City Council has the final vote on whether this rezoning is approved. The City Planning Commission reviews the application and makes a recommendation — but it is City Council that votes on the rezoning ordinance. Before that vote happens, the ordinance must be read at three separate Council meetings.
That means there is time to make your voice heard. Council members respond to constituent contact. Emails, phone calls, and in-person attendance at Council meetings all matter — especially from residents in their district

You do not need a scripted message. A short, direct email from a constituent is more effective than a long one. Tell your council member:
Who you are and where you live
That you oppose the rezoning of the parcels at Bancroft Parkway and West 11th Street from C-1 to C-2
Why it matters to you personally
That you are asking them to vote no
See our Sample Letters page for a template you can adapt.
This is a city-level zoning decision, but your state legislators also have an interest in Wilmington’s neighborhoods and development policy. Let them know your community is engaged.
